Hillary Clinton did an interview in Australia with that country’s first female prime minister, Julia Gillard, and the two had much to say about sexism in politics and in general. Hillary added to her excuses for losing the last presidential election, Americans’ fear of women in power and basing their views on women’s looks.
She’s already played the misogyny card before, but she expanded on it this time. During the interview, Clinton and Gillard extended the discussion to include the “absolute forensics” that are done on how women look, seemingly indicating that Hillary’s loss had something to do with her appearance. Gillard had served as Australia’s prime minister from 2010 to 2013.

“The double standard is alive and well, and it is more difficult for women in public positions – we’ll talk about politics – but it’s true in business, it’s true in the media, it’s just true across the board,” Clinton said. “Because there are expectations about women’s appearance that are deep in our collective DNA, so that people feel free to comment, either favorably or unfavorably, about hairstyles, clothing fashions, and all the rest of it.”
While appearance does have a lot to do with life in the public eye, that is not why Hillary lost the election. Her female bits didn’t factor into it either. Women over all did not like her any more than men did. She just was not relatable and was a criminal. But instead of taking responsibility for any of her shortcomings, Clinton is traveling the globe blaming others. As one tweet said, “Nothing says “I should be president” like blaming entire swaths of the American population.”
Hillary claimed that men do not face the same level of scrutiny about their appearance. “In politics, men come in all sizes and shapes, all kinds of hairstyles or no hair at all, and it is not remarked upon, because you are used to seeing men in these roles,” Clinton said. I’m not so sure that is true. Look at Chris Christy for instance. His looks along with his progressive ways kept him from going further. Our leaders don’t have to be movie stars, but Americans generally prefer attractive, presentable candidates. Hillary Clinton was that on the outside… inside, she’s rotten to the core and massively fails the smell test. “Society’s over-emphasis on how women look is a way to undermine their confidence, put them on the defensive and dismiss their qualifications,” Clinton said.
This particular piece of whining was meant as a weapon against President Trump. Hillary turned her focus to Trump who “insulted women’s looks repeatedly,” while campaigning, she said. Among his targets were 2016 Republican nomination hopeful Carly Fiorina and news commentators and interviewers, Clinton alleged. “Now why did he do that, other than the fact that he is what he is?” she asked. That is true. Trump did do that. But Clinton was just as bad in other ways. She would insult his followers by calling them ‘a basket of deplorables’. She insinuated women were forced by their men to vote for Trump, indicating they were weak and stupid. Neither of these tactics are okay or acceptable, so Hillary has no room to go after Trump. She’s certainly not pure as the driven political snow here.
As Chicks on the Right points out, it’s time to update your lists of reasons that Hillary lost: “So now we’ve got Fox News, bad polls, WikiLeaks, Obama, TV coverage, Comey, the Russians, Putin, sexism, weak women, bigots, racists and the supposed reality that a “very large portion” of the population feels “uneasy” with the idea of a woman taking charge. Oh. And ugliness. That too. Those are the reasons she lost.”
Clinton claimed it was done to undermine the women Trump was insulting. “And there is a big audience for that, I regret to tell you,” Clinton said. “There is still a very large proportion of the population that is uneasy with women in positions of leadership. So, the easiest way to avoid looking at someone on her merits is to dismiss her on her looks.” Now, that is a massive lie and misogynist all in itself.
Gillard said the emphasis on women’s looks can start out somewhat benign and then “really cascade into a nasty end. I, as prime minister, referred to as a witch,” Gillard said. “A commentator said I should be put in a chaff bag and drowned at sea. I had to point out that you couldn’t drown a witch, so they needed to work out exactly what they wanted to do. It just dismayed me,” Gillard added, explaining that it’s like the Salem witch trials all over again. But that has to do more with political stance and personality. I don’t understand this whole female victimhood thing, when many of the detractors are women themselves.
“Media and political consultants fuel the behavior because it’s an effective strategy,” Clinton said. “The other side knows the power of misogyny,” she said. And so does Hillary. “Accusations and the imagery associated with them linger and have an impact,” Clinton said.
When asked about the “lock her up” chants, Clinton added, “There is this fear, there is this anger, even rage about women seeking power, women exercising power, and people fall back on these attacks, like you’re a witch or you should go to prison, or whatever it is. And the enthusiasm with which that is generated speaks to a much deeper sense of alienation that people still have toward woman leaders. It’s not a majority, thank goodness, it’s not, but it’s a very vocal minority, at least in my country. And sometimes these tropes are very much part of the press coverage.”
Clinton maintained she is putting the election loss behind her, but is continuing to support causes and candidates she cares about. Who is she kidding? She doesn’t act like that in the least. She said she is focusing on November elections, as the entire House and one-third of Senate are up for election. It’s imperative that Democrats take back at least one of them, Clinton said. God help us if they do and at this point, the Blue Wave seems to be more of a trickle.

She really is the worst and most entitled politician in recent history. It's astonishing someone could be that out of touch with reality.
If she wants someone to blame, she should start by looking in the mirror.

The only way she can justify her loss to herself is to assume everyone else is a misogynist https://t.co/AA1i68Jd8U

No, that's not it. I'm a woman who did not vote for you, and it had nothing to do with you being a female. https://t.co/J4W9xC5k9a
