Sexuality Expert Says A Baby Must Give Permission Before A Diaper Change

Deanna Carson is a so-called Australian “sexuality expert.” She is also an author who became the center of mockery when she suggested that parents and guardians ask for “consent” from their baby before a diaper change.

Carson was appearing on an Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) News segment about “changing consent culture,” when she was asked how young some of the children she works with are. “We work with children from three years-old, we work with parents from birth,” she said.

“From birth?” the host reasonably asked. This is when Carson went full-blown wacko insane, “Yeah, just about how to set up a culture of consent in their homes. So, ‘I’m going to change your nappy now, is that ok?'” I’d like to know how you would do that and more importantly, why. Apparently, this “sexuality expert” is not an expert in human cogitation.

Even though we all recognize that a newborn cannot respond to something like this, Carson has an explanation. “Of course, the baby isn’t going to respond, ‘Yes mum that’s awesome, I’d love to have my nappy changed,'” she explained. “But if you leave a space [she pauses] and wait for body language and wait to make eye contact then you’re letting that child know that their response matters.” Uh, more likely the child will mess themselves more, pee on you or spit up. How do you translate that, hmmm?

The baby could also go into a crying fit because they are uncomfortable with a messy diaper or a myriad of other reasons. They could smile beatifically at you and play with their toes while they take a dump too. So what do we do then? Only “yes means yes,” according to the left, so please translate. What a bunch of nimcompoopery, with emphasis on ‘poop’.

This so-called expert felt insulted for being roundly and righteously mocked on social media. So, of course, she took to Facebook to defend her dumbassery. “I gave an interview the other day about teaching consent to young children,” she wrote in the post. “Sadly, some people have chosen to ridicule me (oh no! Pink hair! Must be a lesbian!) and the notion of giving infants bodily autonomy (poo in nappies har har amiright?!). For those people I’m posting this. One in three girls, one in seven boys will be sexually assaulted by the time they are eighteen years old. One in twelve girls will be sexually abused before their sixth birthday,” she continued, adding, “Troll me all you want, add to your blog inches, but remember that when you do, you are negating the voices of these brave survivors of sexual abuse.”

What I’d like to know is what in the pink blazes does changing a diaper have to do with sexual abuse? No, this is not about sexual abuse; this is about you telling parents to ask their newborn baby if they “consent” to a diaper change. Which is just moronic. “In empowering children with their rights’ while educating families and professionals, the burden of responsibility is placed squarely on adults to protect children,” the organization’s website states. Again, what does that have to do with diaper duty?

According to her Facebook bio, Carson is CEO of Body Safety Australia — “Victoria’s leading provider of positive relationship education in early childhood, primary and secondary schools.” Lord help us. She is also a member of the National LGBTIQ Health Alliance, the Society of Australian Sexologists and National Speakers Association of Australia and Partners in Prevention. She also works with young people and their communities, holds workshops and writes about sex, sexuality, body safety, relationships and gender, her bio added. So, she’s a leftist perv. Got it. And I do mean perv… more from Carson’s bio:

“Deanne specializes in how young people use the Internet to explore and express sexuality. Classes and workshops address issues such as inadvertent viewing of inappropriate content, social media use, nudes, sexting, porn and sexual predators. All of Body Safety Australia’s classes and workshops are inclusive of same-sex attracted, sex and gender diverse students.”

Who wants to bet this woman doesn’t have children? Yeah, count on it. I doubt she even knows how to change a diaper. No wonder kids are so messed up these days. When you confuse changing a diaper with sexual abuse, it’s time for a severe reality check and maybe actual sex education and a good dose of parental instruction. This woman needs to seek help, stat.
