Knife Attacks Cause London To Surpass NYC’s Murder Rate For First Time

London is known for its strict gun laws and its multiculturism. However, they just set a historic first, outpacing New York City in murders for February, mostly from knife attacks.
The majority of the murders were committed by knife attacks. Some, were acid attacks. New York City and London are roughly the same size. Both are led by non-conservatives. London’s mayor is Sadiq Khan, a Muslim activist. New York’s mayor is Bill deBlasio, a Marxist. In the month of February, 15 people were murdered in London and 14 in NYC.
London is set to outpace NYC’s murder rate for March as well. “By late last night there had been 22 killings in the capital, according to the Metropolitan police, against 21 in the US city,” notes the Times. Eight of those murdered in March happened in a span of just seven days. Britain’s capital has experienced an epidemic of murders in recent years – many from acid and knife attacks. Since 2014, murders have risen by a stunning 38%. Meanwhile, New York City’s murder rate, and the city’s overall crime rate, continue to go down. As Fox News noted, the murder rate in New York City is down 90 percent from 1990 when the city saw more than 2,200 murders. In 2017, the city saw less than 300. Much of that is due to police taking a tough stance in NYC.
According to the Times, there have been 31 murders with knives in London so far in 2018. This is a recent trend for London. According to the Times, “FBI data and studies by the late Eric Monkkonen, a researcher at the University of California, show that since 1800 London has had a murder rate per person of between half and a 20th of New York’s.” According to the Times, London’s murder rate hasn’t surpassed that of New York City since 1800, a time when King George III still ruled England and John Adams, America’s second president, was nearing the end of his only presidential term. Knife attacks are becoming more and more common. However, guns can be purchased on the black market and frequently are. Acid attacks are popular among Muslim extremists and terrorists prefer bombs and cars.
Last year there was a total of 80 fatal stabbings in the capital – the most in almost a decade. And official figures show that 2017 was the worst year for knife deaths among young people since at least 2002. Forty-six people aged 25 or under were stabbed to death in London, up by 21 compared with the previous year, according to police figures.
Jacob Whittingham, the head of the Fight For Peace charity, is confounded by the “random” violence. “What’s scary about London is the randomness of the crime,” he said. “With young people in London, you have no idea if and when you may be the victim of a violent crime — that’s why they feel the need to carry weapons.” That is not accurate. Most of the attacks are coming from migrants that Britain has welcomed through their porous borders from the Middle East. It is a clash of cultures that is causing the increase in crime.
Metropolitan police commissioner Cressida Dick blames social media. “Dick said websites and mobile phone applications such as YouTube, Snapchat and Instagram were partially to blame for the bloodshed,” reports The Evening Standard. “Fatal stabbings in England and Wales are now at their highest levels since 2011, rising by 12 per cent in the year ending December 2017.” Again, that is the wrong target. It is culturally based. He also said courts were failing to enforce a ‘two strikes’ law aimed at jailing those caught with a knife twice, which was frustrating law enforcement. Taking away guns and knives is not going to work. People will get weapons regardless.
Crime statistics also suggest you are almost six times more likely to be burgled in the British capital than in NYC and one and a half times more likely to fall victim to a robbery. London also has almost three times the number of reported rapes, although differences in the way the figures are recorded is thought to impact the overall statistics.
The Telegraph reported last October that violent crime is on the upswing in England, so much so that police recorded more than 1 million violent crimes last year. Stabbings in particular are on the rise, according to the Sun UK. As of September 2017, London recorded more than 12,000 stabbings, a more than 20 percent increase from the previous year. And yet, no one addresses the fact that crime is on the rise in direct proportion to the immigrants that London is welcoming with open arms. “London’s violent traits have become a virus,” former Metropolitan Police Superintendent Leroy Logan told BBC News. And yet, they are blind to the cure which is secure borders, background checks and severe punishment for criminals.
