Laura Ingraham and Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh faced off over the mayor’s decision to provide “free” buses for students who choose to skip school to attend the March For Our Lives anti-gun rally in Washington, DC. It was heated and went off the rails quickly.
Baltimore has been riddled with crime, poverty and corruption for decades. Ingraham pointed that out and berated the decision to bus students to a protest amidst all the problems schools face in Baltimore currently. “You’re funding buses, in part, to go down to Washington, and yet you have a budget deficit–” Ingraham said.

Ingraham then invoked statistics from Baltimore’s education system, which included a 10-year low in enrollment, a $130 million deficit for 2018 and 115 personnel layoffs. “Are you concerned about the fact that 13 of the 19 Baltimore high schools have 0% of students that are meeting grade level proficiency in math?” Ingraham asked. “Isn’t that a bigger problem that training student activists?”
This incensed Pugh who shot back, “You need to get your facts straight, love. I don’t know whether you’re trying to become the communications director for the Trump administration–” Ingraham cut in and said, “I don’t know why you’re getting personal, mayor.” Pugh continued by claiming that she was only providing a way for Baltimore students to get to DC “safely.” Laura pressed the mayor on whether it was her role to transport student activists to rallies. Pugh announced earlier in the day that she would provide 60 buses in hopes of sending 3,000 students to the March for Our Lives rally.
The rally was conceived immediately in the wake of the Parkland, Florida high school massacre that killed 14 students and three staff members. 15 others were also wounded during the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Numerous reports and warnings to the FBI and local Broward County Police Department went ignored and the young psychopath was allowed to walk into his former school to commit mass murder, just like he had previously warned he would.
David Hogg, a student at the school, has since then become the face of the protest for the left and the poster boy for gun control. CNN has constantly featured Hogg and other students from the school who are being used for their gun control agenda. They tried to make it seem like a spontaneous movement by these kids, but in fact, the protest is organized by the same groups that organized the Women’s March and is funded by wealthy celebrities such as George Clooney and Oprah Winfrey.
Ingraham continued to quiz Pugh on the decision to ship Baltimore kids to the rally that not-so-organically evolved after Parkland and asked Pugh if she would provide “free buses” for pro-life students if they wanted to attend the annual March for Life rally next January. Of course, Pugh deflected and instead slammed the NRA. This set Ingraham off. “We’re getting teachers laid off, personnel laid off, and you’re shuttling students down to a rally!” Ingraham exclaimed. “That does not seem to make sense!” She is of course right on the issue.
Laura Ingraham said young people are being indoctrinated to become protesters and liberal activists at the behest of “old guard liberals.” And they are. It’s classic Marxism and a technique straight out of Rules for Radicals. Ingraham said President Obama’s “legacy” is America’s current “constant state of protest and agitation.” Such practices are “force fed” to students through high school and college classes. Many times they are literally graded on their radicalism. Yale, for instance, expects their students to be versed in issues of social justice.
The end game here is power and control. It’s all about gun control. Ingraham said former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg (I) – a billionaire media magnate – poured millions into hundreds of gun control marches largely staffed by young people. “When you can get college credit or even a fast pass to the Ivy League by protesting, why study?” she asked. Exactly and when Mayor Pugh buses students to a gun control protest, it speaks volumes. Pugh was exceedingly condescending to Ingraham, which is not surprising in the least.
I find it interesting in a city that can’t afford to give their students a decent education or protect them from rampant violence, that they can afford to bus the kids to DC for a gun control protest. Priorities much? Mayor Catherine Pugh argued that her students fear gun violence, even though Maryland has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation, so she wanted to help them “have their voices be heard.” She next admitted that “someone” had reached out to her to help get students to the protests, though she did not say who that was. It would be interesting to know who those ‘private’ donations are from. One wonders why they give money for gun control protests, but not for the students themselves.
