Kellyanne Conway Shreds Kirsten Gillibrand: ‘I Don’t Need A Lecture From Her’

Kellyanne Conway put Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) in her place this weekend while giving an interview to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. It was definitely a ‘drop the mic’ moment and very satisfying. Conway says she does not need a lecture from the likes of Gillibrand over the treatment of women in the White House. She pointed out that Gillibrand was one of the people that “protected” Bill Clinton when he was president. The left pounced on that saying that Gillibrand did not come into Congress until 2007… Bill Clinton was nailed for abusing women in 1999. Gillibrand has been a friend of the Clintons for decades and did defend Bill Clinton. Hillary Clinton is her idol. She only recently said Bill Clinton should have resigned and that was to bolster her aspirations to become president in 2020. So, spare us the faux outrage.

All of this came about after White House staff secretary Rob Porter resigned last week over accusations of domestic abuse by two ex-wives. That is not an admission of guilt, but he is being destroyed nonetheless for it. President Trump pointed out that Porter had done great work while at the White House and said that Porter claims he is innocent. As a side note here… whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? That seems to have gone out of fashion and this is an example of that. Gillibrand criticized Trump for not acknowledging the on-the-record charges made by Porter’s former wives, saying it showed a pattern of not respecting women. Bull crap. Men deserve just as much respect as women do. Porter deserves a chance to defend himself here.

After ABC host George Stephanopoulos read Gillibrand’s tweets on “This Week,” he asked Conway if the women who have accused Trump of sexual misconduct deserve due process as well. Conway bluntly laid it out for George. She said those accusers have “had their day on your network and elsewhere for a long time.” Yes, they have… these are not new allegations and most of them have been proven false. Nice try though. “I don’t need a lecture from Kirsten Gillibrand or anybody else who protected and defended and harbored a sitting president who had sexual relations in the Oval Office and was impeached for lying,” Conway said. “I don’t need a lecture from her or anybody else.” Exactly right and appropriately targeted at Gillibrand.

Conway also pointed out that Gillibrand said in retrospect, Clinton should have resigned from the presidency over his relationship with Monica Lewinsky. That just happened in the last couple of weeks. “That’s a Democratic Party bereft of any ideas and any accomplishments,” Conway said. Conway pivoted to attacking Gillibrand for setting herself up for 2020 and tacking hard to the left. Again, that’s spot on. Gillibrand is a communist and an opportunist.

I’m sure the left was hoping for a different outcome in this interview. Too freaking bad. And although Porter has not had a chance to defend himself, Conway did say this: “In this case, you have contemporaneous police reports, you have women speaking to the FBI under threat of perjury … you have photographs, and when you look at all of that pulled together, Rob Porter did the right thing by resigning,” Conway said. Which I agree with. It appears the allegations have merit, but Porter has a right to defend himself as well. However, he should not do that while in the White House. Conway took it a step further and said she has “no reason not to believe the women.” I would say the women definitely seem to be telling the truth here and it does not look good for Porter.

Conway also said that Trump has great compassion and respect for women. If he didn’t, she wouldn’t be there. She could name her job out there and I believe her. No woman in her right mind would stay in an abusive atmosphere like that. Especially not a strong woman like Conway. “I think he’s doing a great job for America’s women. We have to look at the full picture … We are a safer, more prosperous nation — that includes all of us, including the nation’s women — because of Donald Trump’s leadership,” she added. That is true and all the drama surrounding Trump has nothing to do with what he is getting done or what we need to address.
