Hoyer Slams Pelosi For Offensive ‘Five White Guys’ Remark

Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer (MD) and moonbat extraordinaire Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) have been friends forever. And I do mean forever. So, it was even more shocking when he slammed Pelosi for her remarks about white men working on an immigration agreement as “offensive.” “The five white guys I call them, you know,” Pelosi said, referring to five bipartisan lawmakers, including Hoyer, leading efforts to salvage the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

All five of the male lawmakers are white. So, Hoyer took it rather personally. In addition to Hoyer, they include Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-TX), Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly. I don’t blame Hoyer for being upset. “Are they going to open a hamburger stand next or what?” she said, referring to the popular fast food restaurant “Five Guys.” That’s low even for Pelosi. “That could’ve been done four months ago. The very idea that this week they’re saying, ‘Oh why don’t we get four white guys and General Kelly to come and do this,’” she continued. The lack of minority involvement only serves to delay a deal, she argued, since it would need sign-off from the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and others.

Hoyer stood up on his hind legs and hit back at Pelosi. “That comment is offensive. I am committed to ensuring DREAMers are protected and I will welcome everyone to the table who wants to get this done,” he told Politico in a statement, using the nickname referring to recipients of the DACA program. It’s fun watching liberals fight. They are so busy screaming over racism sometimes they forget they are attacking their own. Hoyer was one of more than 20 bipartisan legislators from the House and Senate who met with President Trump on Tuesday to discuss a possible deal on the Obama-era program, which will expire in March.

Pelosi complained earlier this week that there were no minority representatives in the discussions. “The sensitivity even on the wording is really important [and] for people who are engaged in these issues to be there at the table. They’ve been working on it in a bipartisan way for a long time,” Pelosi said. Slapping Hoyer is not going to win this dingbat any points with the Democrats. Hoyer stated that no agreement came out of the meeting, though Senate Democrats suggested there was a preliminary agreement on Republican demands for enhanced border security and immigration policy changes. I still think this is going to fail and it probably should.

Pelosi’s comment on white guys was idiotic and shows just how addled the woman is. She’s painful to watch. She looks three sheets to the wind to me. And what’s with the incessant attempt at humor? Pelosi is about as funny as a kumquat. I fail to understand why being white would preclude you from being able to form immigration agreements. Perhaps there is a hidden brain cell in minorities that is needed in these talks… or something. Considering most of the Democratic Party and just about all their leadership is white, this is moronic in the extreme.

Drew Hammill, Pelosi’s spokesman, later backpedaled and said she wasn’t criticizing Hoyer or Durbin’s participation and has made similar comments during meetings with both this week, without complaints. She didn’t mean ‘white Democrats’, is that what you are saying? “Leader Pelosi has every confidence in the leadership of Whip Hoyer and Senator Durbin, which they have demonstrated on this topic for years,” Hammill said. “It’s not a question of who’s there but who’s not there.”

The bipartisan group of Senate negotiators, also mostly white men, did recently add Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), a member of the CHC, to its ranks. But several members of the CHC left their weekly meeting Thursday complaining they were still in the dark on the Senate talks. Nothing has been settled yet. The Dems still want DACA and don’t want to give the Republicans the wall, an end to chain migration and Diversity Lottery visas. Neither side is budging, so it looks to me as if this is a dead horse. I guess we’ll see next week.
