Van Jones On Oprah: ‘Queen of the Universe’ Would ‘Destroy Anyone’ Running for President

Van Jones is on a commie roll! He literally drooled over the prospect of Oprah Winfrey running for President of the United States on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360.” Last night, he called her the “queen of the universe” who would “destroy” anyone in front of her if she ran for president. Just wow. You just keep telling yourself that. After Oprah’s barn burner speech at the Golden Globes Sunday evening, the media went into a frenzy over her potentially challenging President Donald Trump in 2020. No one was more gleeful than Jones, the former Obama administration official and current CNN commentator. Winfrey is a longtime ally of Barack Obama.

“The question is, does she want to be demoted from queen of the universe to President of the United States,” Jones said. “That’s the only question. If she wants to do it, she can do it. She is probably the most beloved human being on Earth. She is probably the most beloved carbon-based life form on Earth. If she runs, she will destroy anyone in front of her.” Seriously? I remember how Oprah behaved during the Obama years. She’s just as racist as he is. And just as big a Marxist. And she’s black, wealthy, famous and has lady bits. She’s the dream candidate for the left.

CNN’s Brian Stelter reported Monday that Winfrey was “actively thinking” about running for president, but NBC reported a “source close to Oprah” saying she had “no intention of running.” Ah, the ole political two-step. Trust me… she’s testing the waters here. Winfrey is a longtime Democratic supporter who backed the candidacies of then-Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) in 2008 and Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Jones added, “The question is, does she want to do it? I’ve talked to a lot of people close to her, around her, there is basically bedlam in Oprah land right now. People are begging her, please run, please run, please run. She’s given no indication she’s moved off her position that she doesn’t want to do it. I will say that speech last night was extraordinary. That speech, she did in nine minutes what Barack Obama did in 17 minutes in 2004. She told her story. She told the American story in a way that just was electrifying. If she decides to do this, it is going to be one of the most extraordinary runs in American history.” The 2004 speech for Obama was at the DNC Convention.

The White House responded on Monday to speculation that Winfrey could mount a bid for the presidency, saying that President Trump and his team would “welcome the challenge, whether it be Oprah Winfrey or anybody else.” But Trump said he didn’t think she’d run. Jones said there’s no getting in the gutter for any Oprah opponents; her life is an open book. Right.

Van Jones went on to say taking aim at Trump, “She could hold a front against hatred in this country.” Jones said many Americans are concerned about growing hatred and intolerance and Winfrey could bring a “values-based front for inclusion and tolerance” to the country.

“The tough thing on Oprah might be somebody saying, your life wasn’t as bad as you say. Or mistakes you made weren’t as awful as you felt like they were. She is uniquely positioned herself to be able to take those blows and turn them into advantages for herself. Listen. I’ll say one more thing. Part of what happened with Hillary Clinton was that she was not able to get white women to vote for her. The majority of white women voted against her and for Donald Trump. I do not think that’s a problem that Oprah Winfrey will have. I think she’ll have women, men, blacks, whites, Latinos, business people, I mean, c’mon!,” exclaimed Jones. I agree, she is a formidable opponent and if Winfrey were elected, she would finish what Obama started. She would devastate America.

CNN senior media correspondent Brian Stelter weighed in as well, noting that there might be pushback against Winfrey from Democrats, given that there are “not a lot of obvious candidates who have star power and charisma” and Winfrey might dominate the race by virtue of her fame. Ya think? “What she would bring is the ability to put on a show, just like Donald Trump,” Stelter said. Stelter reached out to sources close to Winfrey and reported that “they’re just letting this trial balloon float up into the air today.” Exactly as I pointed out earlier.
