The flip-side is what would have happened had Ogonowski won the special election for MA-05. The net results would have been that the seat would almost certainly go back to Blue come November and that Jean Francois would be running against Jeff Beatty for Senate.

As it is, Rep. Niki Dingbat is running unopposed in MA-05 while Ogo and Beatty are sliming each other in order to get the thrill of being trounced by The Gigilo in the general.

MS will be in Maverick's column come November and the GOP will win-back MS-01 - perhaps one of the only seats we'll pick up this year.

... if MS isn't in the R column and MS-01 doesn't go back to Red in the general then we're probably looking at a thrashing the likes of which will make 1964 and 1974 look like joy-rides by comparison.

McCain will kill us downticket-and with the Dems running a pro life, pro gun anti tax Democrat, there's no chance for us to win here. Although one could say this is a win for conservatives, because he's running like a Zell Miller Democrat. I think once these Blue Dogs are in office, we need to push conservative legislation through and make them vote for or against it. We're giving all these supposed conservative Ds a free pass when we never challenge them to prove their conservatism is more than just lip service.

The trouble with our friend John McCain isn't that he's ignorant, it just that he knows so much that isn't so.

I do think that the GOP leadership needs to wake the h*ll up and fast.
And I think we all can play a role in that.
We need to mobilze and get to work.
Karl Rove ain't the only one that can turn out voters.
