Gas Prices Drive Metro Traffic
Preliminary findings of Metro’s latest customer survey also found a significant percentage of transit riders — 30 percent for bus and 38 percent for MetroLink — became converts within the last two years, mirroring ridership numbers that have been surging in recent months.
“We can attribute a lot of our recent ridership growth to gas prices,” said Jessica Mefford-Miller, Metro’s director of research and development.
