It's Friday - let's lighten up!

Yeah, I know it’s not strictly “family friendly” - but sorry folks, this song is stuck in my head and dang-it I ain’t suffering alone…

While the music was absolutely revolting, the message was...

ahhh....

inspiring!

go about getting that song "stuck" in your head in the first place?

very sad... :-)

Listen to your 13-year old daughter's radio station for about 15-minutes.

Believe me, this song is tame.

Anyone for introspection??

Quote:
Hey guys! Check out your counterparts on the right. See how they act just like you on THEIR partisan blogs (of course you won't see it that way, but it's true) http:// www.theminorityreportblog...day_for_liberty

Oh, and they banned me for my comments on just that thread (I had no history on that site).

Whaddaya think?
Were they being paranoid, evasive and/or stupid?
Was the ban justified?

What a tool! We had this guys number from the jump!!!

and the comment by cursed is the best -- lol!

Snot-nosed little whelp. Came with nothing, wasted our bandwidth, added nothing to the conversation, gets banned for serial stupidity and then cries to his fellow travelers.

Farepoorly, Brooks.

those who know him best, like him least...

I, for one, loved this:

Quote:
Brooks, no offense intended, but if I was being criticized for the way I communicate all over the net, by folks on both the right and left, there would eventually come a point when I suspected I was the problem, not everyone else.

And I'm willing to wager I can count on one hand the number of issues upon which "Andrew" and I agree - but dislike of Brooks and his (and I'm stretching the language here) style is obviously among them.

This guy was a piece of work. A nasty nasty nasty one.

Funny thing is that he is most likely the only person not to recognize what his conversational tactics where.

The other guy barely backhanded him....I am thinking the guy who was beat down had to be drunk or on drugs to go down like that....funny stuff though.

... can be found here. Not exactly a musical (or videographic) masterpice - but kinda funny. Her debut album (just out, evidently) is titled One of the Boys.

I'm guessing she doesn't take herself too seriously - an admirable quality in an entertainer. Plus she's, well, pretty darn cute in that "naughty girl next door" sorta way.

I'm predicting a bright future for he if she manages to stay away from the Demon Rum and other, erm, chemicals.

That Katy girl is creepy, as my 13 year old would say.
Thank God for American Idol, Hannah Montana, and HSMusical. That's all the music my kids ever want to listen to. Can I just tell you that I have heard "Red High Heels" by Kellie Pickler about 1000 times this past month? I guess I shouldn't complain though, given these alternatives.

DocJ's picture

Could be where you see creepy (and I can see where you get that) I rather see "blissfully cynical" - which actually fits my personality pretty closely.

Hold on to their musical tastes for as long as you can. Pop music is, and perhaps always has been, crap - but now it's filthy crap to boot.

...tried to hide it's dirtiness in thinly vialed metaphor! Today's pop music... not at all, and I blame laziness and a microwave-fast food-I need it now society!

DocJ's picture

There's no shame, no embarrassment, society is incredibly crass and crude, and we're continually bombarded by hyper-sexuality - why should not pop music reflect this?

That we're also lazy is a feature, not a bug, of all that.
