Leadership Obama Believes In: If You Need Me, Call Me!

Tagged: •

Barack Obama responding to a call by Senator McCain to suspend the campaigns in order to go back to Washington and work on the Bailout bill said the debate will go on a s scheduled and “if you need me, call me”

“if you need me, call me” WTF??? that’s what passes for leadership in Obamaland? That was very presidential — oh, you mean there’s an incredibly important bill going through the US Senate (of which I’m a member of) that may cost taxpayers a trillion+ dollars? No big deal!!! I’m on the campaign trail “if you need me, call me” Brilliant answer!

Now, we all know the Obama camp will try to spin this as McCain trying to avoid the debate but nothing could be further from the truth.

Obama was the one who said NO to the 10 townhall meetings and it was Obama who said no to appearing together with John McCain at Saddleback… time and time again it’s Obama who was refused to debate McCain…not the other way around!

responsible for solving the mess in 40 days.

He does not take office until Jan 20.

The issue is that that we're talking about Senator Obama doing the job he currently holds, which is to help "solve the mess" in his elected role as a member of the U.S. senate.

Then again, since Obama has been missing so long from the Senate, it's understandable that you and he would forget that fact.

So no, Senator Obama has no more standing to heckle from the sidelines than would Senator McCain (or Senator Biden) - and McCain has decided that his duty is to pitch in and do something.

So the question we're all watching is whether Obama will 1) keep away; 2) come to Washington to work (like McCain); or 3) as is his modus operandi will he opportunistically barge in at the last minute after all the hard and risky work is done and hog the spotlight, once again stealing credit for the fruits of others' labors.

And Rightly So!
