The only way that we are going to be able to change the system is from the bottom up. We need a strong Conservative bench. In a two part series on The Next Right, Matt Moon takes a look at how we can create a strong farm team. [His emphasis is on the GOP, but I think we can agree that we are more concerned with a strong Conservative GOP.] Part 1 is here and Part 2 is here.
Major league/professional sports teams have "farm team" systems where they can identify and train prospects. The best franchises in baseball have fully developed minor league system: Red Sox, Yankees, Angels, etc. The NBA only recently saw the usefulness of having a minor league system with the NBDL. Here's an observational question (and I look forward to responses/disagreements/debate on this): Do the Democrats today have a better "farm team" system than the Republicans? My answer would be yes, because not only have liberal/left-leaning organizations and the DNC have been involved in identifying and training politicians and aspiring politicians at the local and state level; they have supported these candidates using Web2.0 tools like ActBlue.
There have been a few advancements on this over the last few months. Slatecard has become the answer to ActBlue. The Next Right has launched with the intention of building grass roots activism (and several other blogs like RedState have started to get far more involved at the local level than they had been prior).
The sad truth of the matter is that we must do more. That is why I am challenging the readers, commentators and front page contributors to help us spread the message of true conservatives in races across the country. This year we have:
- One Presidential race
- Thirty-five Senate races
- All four hundred and thirty-five House seats up this year
- Eleven Governor's mansions up for grabs
- And countless state and local elections that can be used to build a bench for these national races such as state legislators, attorneys general, lieutenant governors, mayors, city councilmen all the way down to dog catcher.
The big problem that we have here at the Minority Report is that it is impossible for all of us to follow every one of these elections. This is where we are going to need a lot of help. Here's the homework: Pick out your local races from the list above (I would definitely like to at least see Gov, Sen and House from anyone that has a race this year) and start reporting on who the candidates are, what their positions are and the best way that we can donate to them (not all are on Slatecard sadly).
If we can get enough of this grass roots activism to get money to the qualified conservatives then I believe that we can build the farm team that we need so that we never have to be dissatisfied with our nominees again. So, why are you just sitting there? Get to work!
Me? I've got quite a few races I'm interested in starting with MO-Gov. I'll have some stuff up on this in the next couple off days.

This is very crucial and after reading a similar post I was hoping someone here would write about it here. You rocked it!
