I am perplexed that Redstate.com is so ecstatic that a stronger and more far left than Hindenburg Hillary McGovernite enemy of America appeaser emerged from Iowa the frontrunner to face our GOP champion on Election Day 2008, that they "congratulate" Barack Obama on their front page.

We better hope the articulate and emboldened Leftist is a Titanic we can sink.
I felt cold chills go down my back as I watched the confident and charismatic Upstart denounce the very idea of American exceptionalism to large crowds of the roaring young and old alike in Des Moines last night.
He is far to the left of even Hillary Clinton, especially on the vital issue of national defense. The national Democratic Party is a clear and present danger to the national security of the United States, and Senator Barack Obama (D-Il) is Exhibit A.
The "change" he would bring would mirror that of Senator Hillary Clinton's (D-NY) vision of a socialist state, but would also extend to allowing Saddam Husseins to defy cease-fires achieved with American blood, with no consequence. Obama would exude weakness inviting aggression, i.e. the kind we suffered from on 9/11 but that we have been spared since then thanks to Bush policies that Obama opposed.
Obama is the embodiment of Bush Derangement Syndrome wedded to misplaced white guilt.
I admit to moments of seduction listening to the baritones emanating from a skin tone that I have spent much of my life working to have treated as equal in America. I was a Democrat for decades due to their rhetoric (and action in the 1970s) on integration until I saw their policies as the very racism me and my family worked so hard to oppose. I left the Dem Party in no small part because I saw that it had betrayed King's vision, while the GOP embraced it!
The GOP is the party that truly judges character and not skin color, and it is incumbent upon us to make sure that the candidates are also, so judged.
I would no more vote for a person that is black based on race as I would vote for Mike Huckabee solely based on his religion. Policies and character are what matters. See Reagan and Martin Jr on those.
In late 2006, when The Titanic first entered our collective consciousness, in response to a blog by BBK alleging that Obama was not a typical Black Democrat, I wrote, in part:
Barack Obama is racing to beat Hillary for the McGovern mantle on the war. His voting record is as far left as any Democrat in the Congress.
Yet, Biden calls him mainstream. In fact Biden calls him the first mainstream Black to seek the Presidency. Yet, one would be hard pressed to find any policy differences between him, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton. In fact, one would be hard pressed to find any Democrats beyond one standard deviation of Ted Kennedy.
Based on voting records and policy statements, (which are what matters), there are ZERO elected mainstream Democrats in DC save maybe Nelson in Nebraska and Lieberman on the war.
Yet, the MSM is hard at work trying to make the lie that Obama is "mainstream" a Known Fact, due to his "tone."
Tone and a quarter will get you the same failed liberal policies that un-tone will.
Tone, good looks and soothing rhetoric count for nothing unless they are employed for the right policies.
Now, let me cite an excerpt from BBK's recent blog that I referred to above;
Conversely, Democrats have John Conyers, Maxine Waters, and Sheila Jackson Lee who are the polar opposites of their GOP counterparts. Though equally smart and capable, the party itself seems to encourage or at least enables their behavior that is characterized by clinging to an institutionalized racist past. As individuals, who have fought this scourge much of their lives, I am sympathetic to their situation. The Democrats as a party however, are not able to set aside the past to build a brighter future. Instead they seem intent on propagating racial divide and eager to make this an issue in all matters for political gain.
IMHO Barack Obama is one of the first Democrats on a national scale to break this mold and to embrace the body politic as himself instead of as a black man. Senator Biden, in what could be considered as a blatant racist statement or at least parapraxis, chose some very poor words to describe Senator Obama’s emergence. I do not believe Senator Biden intended his comment to be offensive; however I do think he meant to say that Barack Obama is “unique” as far as Democrat African-Americans go on the national scene.
I agree with BBK as far as it goes, but given the policies Obama supports are the same as those Waters, Conyers and Lee support, Obama's distinctions as per the "body politic" make him more of a threat, not less. Much as Bill Clinton was.
For decades I watched (and continue to watch those few that remain) Southern democrats talk like Obama 6 months before elections and then vote like Obama for the rest of the time.
Obama's skin color is irrelevant. And so are his demeanor, looks and the above-cited distinctions by BBK, in terms of what Obama does in his present job and future jobs.
When we elect congressmen and presidents, we are not picking a golf partner or neighbor. We are picking people to make laws and/or lead the nation.
Granted, Obama has qualities that could be great assets if he were advancing correct policies. But he's not.
I know too many people that were so enamored of Bill Clinton's personality (at least until the sh*t pot of lies got too thick) that they voted for him like they would choose a TV show to watch. Despite his veto of the partial birth abortion ban bill that many conservative democrats supported, they voted for Bill so they could enjoy watching him lie so beautifully for 4 more years in 1996.
Our DC-GOP and '08 GOP contenders must call them out whether they are nice people or not. Their policies are not nice, and pointing that out in blunt terms will kill their chances to retain the majority.
Read it all:
Obama, Democrats are Out of the Mainstream Liberal McGovernites
No, Obama is not typical. He is more dangerous than Jackson, Sharpton and Hillary combined. The real non-typical, i.e. strong on defense JFK democrats, black and white alike, like Harold Ford and Joe Lieberman, are chewed up and spit out by the Big Donkey.
So let's quit celebrating the suave Leftist from the Land of Lincoln and set about to defeat him and his McGovernite dominated Party in the Race 4 2008.
