I received an e-mail from Tommy F.'s parents last night. He and two fellow naval personnel were traveling in China on R&R west of Beijing and he has gone off the radar. Yesterday afternoon, the US Navy contacted his parents who live here in S. Florida & asked if he had contacted them. Up to now, he is still missing and unaccounted for, along with his buddies.
Tommy is a brilliant young officer who studied Arabic at Monterey and then was assigned to Japan to learn Japanese at an American base. He and I have corresponded over the last few years and he has been to our house many times, the last just before he shipped out to Japan.
Your prayers for his safety and that of his companions would be very appreciated.
