Article in Slate Calls For Giving "Blue Dogs" The Boot

Interestingly enough, it would appear that all is not well in Liberal-land, as slate magazine has an article this morning penned by Glenn Greenwald entitled Let's give "Blue Dogs" the boot, and subtitled Pushing conservative Democrats out of Congress could help the party stand up to the GOP.

Apparently it has come to the attention of Mssr Greenwald that since taking control in 2006, this congress has managed to accomplish nothing, and now enjoys a popularity rating half that of the President.

The reason for the low approval, Greenwald opines is that this Democrat congress has rubberstamped everything this president has asked for, and further, this is because of the presence of the so-called "Blue Dog" Democrats in their midst.

Consequently, he has called for their ouster -- through the ballot, I would assume.

Once removed, the Democrat congress can get down to the real business at hand, that of Impeaching Nixon Bush all Republicans.

What Greenwald fails to realize, of course, is that the only way those Blue Dogs were able to get elected in the first place, coming as most of them do from Conservative states and districts, was to claim to be more Conservative than their Republican opponents.

Personally, I would applaud a Greenwald-led effort on the part of the Democrats to "primary" their Conservatives in their Midst, as that would allow the voters the clear choice between parties -- assuming of course that the Republican Party could see the opportunity, seize the opportunity, and run conservative Republicans in order to recapture those districts lost in 2006.

The days of Republicans winning as "Democrat Lite" are..... well, more than "Long Gone" they never were.
