Today is the 3 year blogiversary of The Minority Report Blog, It was February 1st 2007 that this little community blog was taken off of the free blogger platform, and it’s ugly green theme, and took it’s place as an official website.
Last year saw a lot of changes, most notably and regrettably, was the passing of my good friend David Hinz - creator of the Hinzsight Report and President / Editor in Chief of TMR. We added new front page contributors like Nessa, Amy Miller, Fred Maidment, Randy Streu, Susannah, and Michael Donnella AKA Black Conservative. We enjoyed praise from other bloggers and websites who linked to incredible work done by our front page contributors both old and new and we also became the official opinion site of 73wire.com.
Unfortunately, due to money constraints, our site which was scheduled to move to WordPress and get a much needed face-lift and security upgrades last summer was delayed.
Fortunately, we are in the beta test mode of the new WordPress MU site this week with a scheduled launch date next Monday February 7th 2010.
Along with the added security, the new site on WPMU will be extremely more user friendly, no more BBCode and easy to operate blogs and comment that foster a better user experience and ease of engagement that we hope will allow TMR to grow a bigger community and be a comfortable home for both new and experienced bloggers.
2010 is going to be a busy year for sites like TMR and we plan to bring you in-depth analysis of the election cycle, bills making their way through congress, the President and his policies, and the state of Conservatism and the Liberty Movement.
I want to personally thank everyone who’s made this blog a success… all the front page contributors, bloggers, commenter, constant readers, lurkers, and the community as a whole.
Please stick with us through our move, it may get a little bumpy, but I think the end result will by an improved blog, an improved community user experience, and great source of information and analysis for 2010 and beyond!!!
