It would be wrong if you weren't impressed at the precision ability that we have now.
That's why I get tired of the "military-industrial complex" nonsense. We spend money so that we can make better weapons that kill fewer innocent people.

During WWII we had to firebomb entire cities in order to take out a factory manufacturing minitions.
Today we can make the decision as to whether to hit the executive offices or the shipping/receiving loading dock.

Your fault, of course. After all we could have just "detained" these folks.
But now the only choice we have - and the only choice you've given them - is to punch their ticket, with extreme prejudice, on the spot. As a result, there's too much of their corpus missing to do much of anything in the DC Circuit.
Pity.
I will, of course, sleep very well tonight with that on the front of my mind. Hope you can do the same.
