Conservative Takes On NY Democratic Machine

Rus Thompson, a conservative from western New York State, has been fighting a war with the state capital in New York. It is a local issue, one involving tolls on a federally funded highway. New York is not alone in this practice, all over the country states charge tolls for vechicles to drive on federally funded Interstate highways. I Rus' case, he, and other residents of his community, must pay a toll every time they leave their island home. His fight has been featured in every news outlet in the Buffalo area, print, radio and television, has collected nearly 6,000 signatures on a petition and obtained hundreds of documents via the freeedom of information law. At every turn, he is ignored or turned away by the Democratic machine that runs New York State. And not just by our current Democratic govenor, but also by our previous Republican govenor, George Pataki as well. Pataki was also hamstrung by Misters Bruno and Silver.
