The Interior Department declared the polar bear a threatened species Wednesday, saying it must be protected because of the decline in Arctic sea ice from global warming.
I'm sure the presumptive GOP nominee for President agrees with the decision.
(US Interior Secretary Dirk) Kempthorne also said, though, that it would be "inappropriate" to use the protection of the bear to reduce greenhouse gases, or to broadly address climate change.
Now, you're an allegedly smart dude, Secretary Kempthorne. With the law of entirely predictableunintended conesquences being what it is don't you think it, you know, inevitable that the protection of the bear will precisely be used as a justification for reducing greenhouse gasses and to broadly address climate change?
