How to Guarantee a Presidential Win in November

SPLITTING THE DEMOCRAT PARTY!

It is becoming more and more obvious that the Democrat Party will not be able to come to a consensus on their candidate until their National Convention in Denver. Quite probably, only after backroom bargaining, their nominee will emerge on the second or even third ballot of their delegates.

It is important to note that 20% or more of each candidates supporters have stated that they will not, under any circumstance vote for the other candidate. Significant numbers have threatened to either vote for McCain, or sit out the election.

Granted, some of this is just bluster, and many of those voters will, in fact, hold their noses and vote for the chosen candidate of their party. We all know about that.

BUT, the Republican Party can use this discontent within the Democrat Party to their advantage. The day after the Democrat candidate is chosen, probably August 27th or 28th, Sen McCain should announce that, in the interest of unifying the nation, he is selecting the OTHER Democrat candidate as his Vice Presidential running mate.

If Obama is the Democrat candidate for President, Clinton becomes OUR candidate for VP. IF Clinton is their nominee, we take Obama. Either way we effectively split the Democrat Party in half, destroy the candidacy of all the third party groups out there, and throw wide the door to the Republican "big tent."

Now I know what some of you are probably thinking. Neither Obama nor Clinton hold any of our core beliefs and principles. We would be selling out our core values for expediency, doing anything at all to win. My question for you would be, "So?"

We have John McCain as our nominee.

We can afford to take a VP who will bring in a lot of new independent and Democrat voters that we could not otherwise get, and then just keep sending the VP to state funerals and war zones. Core beliefs be da****!

By way of explanation, I am reminded of an old joke. A man approaches a woman in a bar and asks her if she would sleep with him for one million dollars. She thinks for a moment and says she would. He then reaches into his pocket and takes out twenty dollars and offers it to her to sleep with him.

She is rightfully affronted and exclaims, "Twenty dollars, what do you think I am?" To which he explains, "I thought we had already established that. I was just haggling over price."

We should not be afraid to take the Democrat loser as VP, after all, by doing so we will get John McCain as President.

...that sounds cool for about 10 minutes then really starts to weigh on you.

This might even be a good idea if the Senate races don't go as planned... If the VP were to be the deciding vote??? That would be a problem!

as the joke goes, we're willing to do it for a million (McCain) we might as well admit what we are, and go for the twenty bucks!
