Teaching a New Dog to Forget its Old Tricks?

President Johnson may have been the first Democrat to get into trouble because he lifted “Him” (his beagle) up by the ears, but as the primary season heats up it is becoming quite obvious he won’t be the last to fall victim to the curse of a dog’s sensitive ears.

These days, the years spent fine tuning their hearing to rival that of a canine have come back to haunt all the Democrats. The ability to hear beyond the spoken word has got them nipping at each other's tails in the kennel before the big hunt even begins. They have become so sensitive that every bark of their candidate and supporters is perceived as the dog whistle racism I mentioned back when Obama first entered the national scene.

More below the fold...

In what is playing out like a reality TV show called “The Biggest Victim”, it now seems like the Democrat front runners are trying to outdo each other with charges of perceived or coded racial and gender malfeasance. Paradoxically, the winner of this strange contest will probably become a loser in the eyes of the American public. Regardless of the primary outcome, this much used weapon will have lost its edge for a public already beginning to tune out such media hyped snipe hunts.

Even worse for the Democrats, this game of blame may create such an animosity between camps that some may stay home in the fall. These would be much needed votes in a general election where the public is looking for a leader instead of a whiner.

You know what they say, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. In the case of the “new generation” rabid supporters of Hillary and Obama who are dead-set on making this election about race and gender, the Democrat’s better hope they can teach a new dog to forget its old tricks.
