Yet this liberal Democrat follows in a long line of Democrats who, though claiming to be the party that speaks for the American people, change their stripes in order to gain votes for a General Election.

Friday marks the 232nd anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the birth of our great Nation. On that summers day in 1776, fifty six American heroes and patriots pledged, " to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor." The very moment they affixed their signature to this now sacred document each of these American heroes became fugitives from the British Crown.
Their love of liberty and their quest for freedom from tyranny, by British law, made the signing of the Declaration an act of treason against the Crown and as such each man placed his very life on the line to give birth to this Nation and claim and fight for independence.

Facts are facts. No matter how one tries to spin them otherwise the plain and simple fact is that The United States has an oil based economy period. Every aspect of our economy from transportation to food finds a basis in some form or another in oil. Like it or not we need oil to survive as a Nation and whether that oil comes from foreign sources or domestic sources, we have to have oil.
The year is 1776. The Declaration of Independence had been signed in July but it was now December. Enlistments in the Continental Army were down as many soldiers chose to head home and care for their farms and families. General Washington was diplomatically attempting to encouraging the Continental Congress to supply the Army but that too was not going well.
In an unusual humbled tone, Hillary Clinton suspended her campaign for the 2008 Democrat nomination thus ending her aspirations for now in seeking the Presidency that she felt was her destiny. Notice that she, "suspended, " her campaign and did not actually concede to Obama thus giving her control until the Convention in August of her more than 1900 delegates and a great deal of influence over the DNC platform for the fall election.
Last week was another stellar week in the history of the Barack Obama 2008 Presidential campaign. First the on going flak concerning his association with the Trinity United Church of Christ and the now infamous video of guest , "preacher, " Father Michael Pfleger.
This was followed by John McCain's comments concerning Obama and the battle in Iraq. It is well known that the Illinois Senator, who has continuously called Iraq a failure and demanding an immediate withdrawal, has not visited the country for more than two years and well before the surge and the success that has followed.
They came from every corner of our nation representing our best and bravest. They fought in places whose names have become familiar to us not because the field had any great significance but because of what they so bravely did there.
Places like Trenton, Valley Forge, Antietam, Gettysburg, Gallipoli, Iwo Jima, Normandy, Porkchop Hill, Inchon, Hamburger Hill, Basra, Kuwait City, Asadabad, Baghdad, Falllujah. Each of these locations and many more where brave Americans gave the lives defending freedom and fighting for liberty in defense of this nation.
