There is nothing wrong with New York's Lt. Gov. Paterson traveling to South Carolina to support and campaign for fellow Democrat and New Yorker Hillary Clinton. After all, one would expect that sort of support to happen, and perhaps a little give back to Paterson if she should become successful in her bid for the White House.

The trip was in 2007, well ahead of the primaries and consisted of laying ground work for her primary campaign there.

And, while out of town, why not take your girlfriend along with you, those nights in a hotel room can be long and lonely. Never mind that he stated publicly that all those affairs and girlfriends were years ago when he and his wife were separated, we can forgive him of that little indiscretion, certainly.

Here is the part that is unforgivable, the entire trip to South Carolina including the hotel bill where he and $150,000.00 a year Lila Kriton stayed, albeit separate rooms, was billed to the taxpayers of New York.

I am absolutely positive that the Clinton campaign had no knowledge of how Paterson paid for his trip, and there would be no reason for them to know. I am not tying his improprieties to her campaign at all. However, the story itself ties his wrong doings to her campaign and it is negative press she does not need at this point.

When Paterson's spoke person was asked about the incident, he was at a loss for an explanation.

David Paterson made some bad decisions in life regarding sleeping around and using campaign monies for personal use. Now, it appears he has made another bad decision, one that could land him in jail if this is pursued any further.

Paterson turned to his old friend, former Deputy Mayor and long time Democratic operative Bill Lynch for advice on his past philandering ways with staff members and strangers alike.

As David Paterson pays back his campaign for illegal hotel expenditures, new reports of additional campaign funds abuse are surfacing and have begun to raise more eyebrows. It seems his use of a campaign credit card for personal bill paying was fairly widespread. A new list of items reveals the following expenditures of campaign funds that Paterson may have "inadvertently" used his campaign credit card for when his personal card didn't work. All of these expenditures were originally reported as "constituent services."

With the investigation into Ted Stevens well underway, the question must be asked, "Can the Republican party survive another scandal?

While we all know Ted's middle name is pork, in fact, he may even define the term, a few scandals like this could do a lot of harm to us and our bid for the White House.

It is my firm belief that the '06 elections cost us the House and Senate, not because of campaigns or candidates, because of the scandals that erupted just before the elections.

Rus Thompson, a conservative from western New York State, has been fighting a war with the state capital in New York. It is a local issue, one involving tolls on a federally funded highway. New York is not alone in this practice, all over the country states charge tolls for vechicles to drive on federally funded Interstate highways. I Rus' case, he, and other residents of his community, must pay a toll every time they leave their island home.

Texas Republican Governor Rick Perry has stunned his conservative supporters by signing an Executive Order mandating that all sixth grade girls receive Gardasil, Merck & Co.'s new vaccine against strains of the human papillomavirus, or HPV. The papillomavirus can cause cervical cancer in young women. Texas now becomes the first state to mandate such a vaccine.

George W Bush has already lost Congress. Later this year he will lose his closest ally – Tony Blair. Blair’s departure – planned, at least in outline, for some time – may end up being forced by embarrassing circumstances, which could leave his successor weakened.

Blair will resign at some point in 2007. He has promised it will be before the Labour Party conference in September. This does not mean, however, that there will be a new election. The Prime Minister holds office by virtue of leading the ruling party – rather as the Speaker of the House does in the US – so when the Labour Party elects a new leader that person will, automatically, become the new Prime Minister.
