"My opponent has invited serious questioning by announcing a few weeks ago that he would quote -- 'take off the gloves.' Since then, whenever I have questioned his policies or his record, he has called me a liar. Not direclty --his campaign has, though.

Rather than answer his critics, Senator Obama will try to distract you from noticing that he never answers the serious and legitimate questions he has been asked.

Americans are depressed about their current economic fortunes and in many cases their personal finances. In the case of some individuals who have invested/gambled more than they could afford to lose on real estate investments, the mordant pessimism may accurately reflect reality.

It has pretty well been proven that the Obama Campaign is indeed taking credit for the ads attacking McCain for a 20 year old non scandal for which he was aquitted. For those of you who haven't read the post earlier...what follows is my thinking before I had the truth pointed out to me and serves as a prime example of why one should never post diaries at 8:00am and why you should check things from every possible angle before posting it...and now...read and learn what happens when you leap before you look...it will ultimately make you a better blogger!

Now that our Representatives in DC are done abasing themselves before political logic at the altar of “Being seen doing something, no matter how destructive, is better than being seen doing nothing!”, let’s take a look at what just happened.

A Great Dog Story

Anyone who has pets will really like this. You'll like it even if you don't and you may even decide you need one!

Mary and her husband Jim had a dog named 'Lucky.' Lucky was a real character. Whenever Mary and Jim had company come for a weekend visit they would warn their friends to not leave their luggage open because Lucky would help himself to whatever struck his fancy. Inevitably, someone would forget and something would come up missing.

Friday last, I noted a number of hand-made signs in front of businesses and along the main streets of the little Michigan town of Dundee. The signs said, "Register to Vote." One sign, in front of a McDonalds pointed inside. At the main intersection downtown I noticed a card table set up in front of the pizza parlor, with literature on it, and several fresh faced young people waving said literature at the handful of passers-by.

Now that the VP debate is over and the bailout legislation is passed, it’s time to focus again on the two presidential candidates. What do they know about government, and where did they learn it?

Listening to the debate last Thursday and the Sunday talk shows today, it suddenly became very clear to me why the Democrats need to win this election.

First, we are finally winning in Iraq. That is unacceptable. We need to immediately pull the troops out so that we can send them into Darfur, Afghanistan and Pakistan, to rebuild those countries and create Democracies there. We simply chose the wrong war. Iraq should have remained under the control of Saddam Hussein who was a peaceful man and posed no threat to his neighbors or to the world in terms of weapons of mass destruction.
